About

Sarah Southey, MSW, RSW, PhD(c)

When teaching abroad many years ago, I was inspired by a brilliant five-year-old boy who struggled with loud noises in the classroom and was reading at a grade 3 level. Upon return to Canada I pursued studies and work to learn as much about autism as I could.

Since that time, I completed a Masters degree in Social Work at The University of Toronto in 2010. I have worked, consulted and volunteered for Autism Ontario for many years, and also spent some time as a Social Worker supporting families with new diagnoses at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. These days, I spend most of my time on my PhD studies and hold contract teaching positions at both Wilfrid Laurier University and Humber College.

I have spent majority of my career working as an associate at The Redpath Centre. In my practice, I specialize in helping adolescents and young adults organize an education/career path, process new diagnoses, self advocate, manage anxiety and build social skills. I am currently focusing on my PhD research and am not taking on new clients.

Sarah is not currently accepting new clients.
